HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Welcome to my annual recap of the year: 2021 in pictures. Where was I last year?
Ok ok, I know 1st of January is already past but I didn\’t want to post twice in a row so I waited a few more days.
Wao. I can\’t believe 2021 is gone already. It seemed so long but also so quick. I haven\’t seen the past few months go by.
2021 was kind of a game changer. So many things happened! i didn\’t realized it until I did this annual recap. I tried to kept it simple and short with only one picture per month if it was possible.
So why was it a game changer huh? Many things.
First things first: it has been three years since I arrived in Montreal and I finally got to be a permanent resident!!! Wouhou!! No more visa, no more papers (until Citizenship). I can finally do whatever I want with my life (I still have a hard time believing it sometimes).
Then I took my first solo trip with my van. And even if it was not a total success, it made me want to do more.
A friend of mine got a puppy this year and it definitely made me want to finally get my own (story to be continued).
Two of my closest friends got married to each other in the most amazing scenery in the French Alps.
I went back to France after two years to see my family and be there for the hard times. We lost my uncle this September and it was pretty tough on all of us. I am so proud to be part of a family that supports all the members in situations like this. We were all together for two weeks, my grand parents, my mom, my brother and sister, my aunt and my cousins. Even if it was difficult, knowing that we were all there made the difference.
This tragedy made me rethink some things in my life and pushed me to take actions on a few things I wanted: first of them was to go West to explore and see if I liked it. And well, I moved to Calgary two months ago and so far, I still love it!
Some years have it good, some have it bad. Lately for most people it had been bad because of COVID but I hope 2021 was not that bad for you. I wish you all the best for 2022, I wish all of us to get through this pandemy and get out of it stronger and convinced that doing things for ourselves is the best decision anyone can make.
Cheers to 2022!

We went canoe-camping and I took my paddle out for it instead of the classic canoe. I had to have my friends help me out at a few very windy spots but paddle is definitely my favorite water sport now!
