Le Domaine de la forêt perdue – Domaine Enchanteur
(English: The Domain of the lost forest – The Enchanted Domain)[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Since I am back, I am trying to find everything I can do in winter and do them. First, I got to see the super blue blood Moon eclipse on January 31st (you can read about it in this post). And after that, we went to an outside spa (article soon) – That was aaaawesome. And then, we went on a ice skating trip to la forêt perdue![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Yes, it was a trip!
A friend of mine told me about this forest where you could ice skate in the woods for 15kms. How fun right? AND you could also skate at night! Double fun hein?![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Well, with one other friend, we decided we wanted to go. We met two friends of his with their kid there. It is quite a road from Montreal, like one hour and a half but for a day there it is fine. We rented a car and that is also a story! Where the rental company didn’t had any cars that returned that morning so we had to wait for an hour to get one…! Fine, I wanted to buy ice skate so I did! Sooo happy. I always wanted to get ice skates. Yes, in another life I wanted to be an artistic skater. How cliché I know![/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=\”4912\” img_size=\”full\” onclick=\”link_no\” hide_pagination_control=\”yes\” hide_prev_next_buttons=\”yes\”][vc_column_text]Anyhow, one piece of advice for you: check the glass cleaner in the car before doing anything else! We ran out of it like two kilometers away from Montréal and we couldn’t see a damn thing through the glass! (Don’t say otherwise Thomas!). With all the snow and salt and dust, everything sticks to the windshield and if you don’t have glass cleaner, you are pretty much in the ***. We managed to find a gas station not too far after but gosh was it scary on the highway![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We got there by 3PM. There is no much boards with the name of it on it. Which is weird because I thought it was a big attraction in winter there.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]There, you can rent skates ($10) but you can also rent a clair sledge, raquettes, … check out here. There are some rest areas too where you can buy hot chocolate and some food.[/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=\”4906\” img_size=\”full\” onclick=\”link_no\” hide_pagination_control=\”yes\” hide_prev_next_buttons=\”yes\”][vc_column_text]The ice ring is really path in the forest. It is so nice to ice skate in those conditions compared to just circle in a ring. We had a magical weather where it was not too cold and where it snowed huge snowflakes. You know like in the Christmas movies? It really was that.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]It took us two hours to do the big tour of the Domain, stopping and going slow because two of us were slow! (Me included). There was also some animals in squares on the way (Alpagas, sheep, deers…). I am kind of weird about that because they are in very small spots and it is quite cold outside. I don’t know, maybe I am just being silly.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=\”1/2\”][vc_images_carousel images=\”4914\” img_size=\”full\” onclick=\”link_no\” hide_pagination_control=\”yes\” hide_prev_next_buttons=\”yes\”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=\”1/2\”][vc_images_carousel images=\”4907\” img_size=\”full\” onclick=\”link_no\” hide_pagination_control=\”yes\” hide_prev_next_buttons=\”yes\”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=\”1/2\”][vc_images_carousel images=\”4908\” img_size=\”full\” onclick=\”link_no\” hide_pagination_control=\”yes\” hide_prev_next_buttons=\”yes\”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=\”1/2\”][vc_images_carousel images=\”4913\” img_size=\”full\” onclick=\”link_no\” hide_pagination_control=\”yes\” hide_prev_next_buttons=\”yes\”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]It was a really nice alternative to going for a walk in the city or ice skating in the city. We stopped at the main rest station while our friends went back home and the sun was already gone. Well the light of the sun at least![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Thomas and I wanted to ice skate in the dark with the fairy lights and the head light. Too bad I didn’t had mine because it was in the suitcase that got lost by DHL (another story) but one for two was going to do it. Plus, I had my moon because I thought it would be the perfect occasion to try taking pictures at night with it. Well I almost lost fingers but now I know I would need the tripod next time ahah.[/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=\”4921\” img_size=\”full\” onclick=\”link_no\” hide_pagination_control=\”yes\” hide_prev_next_buttons=\”yes\”][vc_column_text]I wished there would have been more fairy lights in the forest because it was really only in one spot. It was fun though to skate in the dark – a bit scary to not see obstacles but…! I will do it again![/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=\”4909\” img_size=\”full\” onclick=\”link_no\” hide_pagination_control=\”yes\” hide_prev_next_buttons=\”yes\”][vc_column_text]Some say it is not worth the road but I think it is. It is so much more fun to skate that way.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Empty gallery item.
