Cabin in the woods: Favorite week end destination for Canadians
The great thing about summer in Canada is what you do during the week ends. I don’t know if that is a rule for all Canadians but at least in Quebec, it seems that a lot of people own a cabin somewhere in the woods by a lake and go there for the week end.
Well, we don’t own a cabin in the woods but you can easily (if you book in advance) rent a cabin for the week end, preferably with a group of friends and next to a lake.
A lot of places are accessible less than two or three hours away from Montréal and it is perfect to escape the city for a few days. Especially when it is 35°C (felt like 44°C) and that you don’t have air conditioning.
That’s how we ended up in a cabin with 29 other people, knowing only a small 8 or 9 people max.
We arrived on the Friday night around 8PM. The cabin we had was in a little village called Entrelacs, not too far from Mont Tremblant (One very famous mountain station here in Quebec).
Right by the lake with a small beach and some canoe. The cabin was very rustic with no drinkable water and toilets that were stuck for most of the week end but the location was perfect.
We saw sunsets and sunrises that were pretty amazing.
We even got to take our drones out with one of my friend. I almost killed mine by the way.
For the little story, I took it out, put it on the ground, prepared it for the flight. When all the signals were green I made it go straight up and that is when it went wrong….
For some reasons, I couldn’t control it anymore. It went on a round trajectory away from me, straight to the lake and suddenly I lost the camera vision.
OH GOSH. I thought it was dead, drawn in the lake somewhere and that I would never see it again. Fortunately enough, somehow, it went straight into a tree not too far away from where I was and it fell in the ground. We could locate it thanks to the GPS last known position.
I was scared something was broken but it had just few scratches and two pals cracked just a little bit.
Fewwww. After that I was scared of making it fly because I have no idea what happened. I did a bit though just to check and it was flying fine but oh boy.
