After visiting Lake Pukaki and Tekapo, it was finally time to see the famous Aoraki / Mount Cook.
On the other side of Lake Pukaki he stands with his snow peaks that are so familiar to many New Zealanders and visitors.
There are a few walks and hikes that you can do to go around and up this mountain. We did some short ones that are described in the full article.
If I had to visit one place again in New Zealand, I guess that would be it. We saw so little of this area, it would have deserved to spent at least two or three days there. Next time!
