Wao, it’s already that time of the year again. I am not ready for this one.
2019 has gone so fast. It seems to me that I was just pushed by the river all the way, not controlling what was happening to me. Sometimes, it’s good to go with the flow you know, but you can become overwhelmed so quickly. And that’s kind of what happened. I had to go back to basics with a paper calendar to get organized for example.
So many things happened to me again and it is very difficult to write them properly.
First of all, I quit my job in the visual effect. It was a though decision because they got me to go back to Montreal and I am so grateful to them for it. But the job I was doing was not the one I was supposed to do and I couldn’t do it anymore. I took a job in a small company called Metrio. It is ten minutes away from my house, I can do remote work and my co-workers and boss(es) are very nice. The work is way more interesting too, I learned ruby and developed my React skills.
Secondly, I guess this year was a turn out point for me caring for the planet. I always thought about it but this year I really acted for it. I took the plastic free July challenge (you can read about how it went here – and spoilers alert: it was hard), I tried to do a #greenchristmas by putting out a list of eco-friendly gifts for this Christmas and in general, I tried to continue using as few plastic as I could. We now shop in a bulk store in Montreal. I have a few addresses if you would like to hear them.
Thirdly, I fell into Foosball! Well I am still not good but I do tournaments and I play every week now. It is very fun and a good activity to do, everyone is so nice and welcoming. It also landed me to help out revamping the website of the association (with a friend designer). It is still on the way but it should come out soon. This website had me had nightmares. It was made in the 2000’s and never upgraded since. They wanted to keep all their stats (which I understand) but it is hell to work with the old site. As I have a full time job, it took me way longer to finish it. But it is on the final run now and I hope people will like it!
Then, Travelling. Travelling has always been in my head as you know and I traveled quite a lot this year too, seizing all the opportunities that came up my way. I went back to the Rockies, to Chicago, I even went to Cuba!
All in all, it was a though but good year. It made me grow a lot and made me more conscious about what mattered to me the most. It was about time right? Because yeah, I am turning 30 in a month exactly and it scares me to death. That’s why I made plans for next year, big ones. I want to go to Patagonia for a while (3 weeks, a month, I am not sure yet). I want to see the Fitzroy Mountains and Torres Del Paine. I want to go to Ushuaïa. I want to live on the road again with no other mindset than what will I do tomorrow? Where will I see the sun rise and the sun set? I am also going away just for my birthday. I am going to Iceland for the first time and I can’t be more excited!
Enough with me, Thank you all for supporting me and reading me. I tried to post more articles this year – I know it was not a success but I still posted some very important ones like the one for a road trip in the Rockies. I wish you all the best for 2020 and let the adventure continue.

Well that wraps about it. I have millions of pictures to sort out but I have a feeling that I might do it better this year. I always puts up this big resolution to not let the blog die but it has been hard with the help I gave to build up the new foosball website this year. I have tons of article I want to write, about Cuba, Seattle, Vancouver… About immigration here in Canada. And soon enough, Iceland and Patagonia!!!
I wish you the best for 2020. Thank you very much for reading me and your support. Don’t hesitate to leave out comments.
